Advancements in artificial intelligence have introduced new elements that must be integrated into the overall architectural and engineering design of facilities. These elements include the communications infrastructure required to support telecommunication networks, administrative local/wide/wireless area networks (LAN/WAN/WLAN), security systems, fire alarm, nurse call, and building automation systems (BAS).
