Washington Nationals Ballpark - Washington, DC

At the opening of this new 41,000 seat LEED Silver ballpark for the Washington Nationals the USGBC identified the project as the largest application of the LEED standard. Sustainable features include redevelopment of a sub-par construction lot, water conserving plumbing and air conditioning systems, energy conserving lighting and a complete BMS system. This stadium is also the only sports structure in the world that will offer parking preference to fuel efficient vehicles, promote recycling among its visitors and use solar panels to provide a portion of its power. This project is the first LEED certified professional baseball park and establishes a new standard for which future stadiums will be measured. M-E Engineers also provided LEED Commissioning for this project.
