M-E Engineers provided the complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for this new 50,000 seat, open-air, baseball park for the Colorado Rockies. The design included a chilled water central plant, natural gas hot water heating, and a VAV air distribution system with high-efficiency pumps and motors. The plumbing system design incorporates a newly patented winter/summer drain for seating areas in the ballpark. Electrical design includes 2-850kw emergency generators, a new 2,000 watt, high efficiency, back-entry fixture for sports lighting, isolated ground system, dual-riser designs, and a fiber telecommunications design for local broadcasters. The fiber optic design is the first of its kind to be used in any major professional facility in this country.
