client: Karlsberger Architects
Historic renovation of 28,000 sf landmarked police facility located on 86th st transverse. Work included replacement of all electrical, mechanical and plumbing infrastructure with fit-out of interior. Specialty systems include emergency power generation, fueling systems and communication systems. This project converted a single story building with an attic into 2 stories of occupied space. Mechanical and electrical systems were tightly integrated into the structure and installed utilizing the eaves of the attic to allow the structure to define the lowest points in the finished construction. A creative approach to the MEP systems was required to design in this Landmarked building with floor to floor heights as low as 9'-0".
